The ABCS Cup 2012 starts this friday with participating countries Bonaire, Curacao, Surinam and host Aruba. First game starts at 7:00pm between Surinam and Bonaire, while Aruba will face off against Curacao at 9:00pm
The ABCS Cup is a "FIFA Friendly Tournament" and the games will count for FIFA Ranking points. The first edition of the ABCS Cup took place back in 2012 in Curacao, last September teams flew to Surinam for the tournament play where Aruba finished in second place after losing to Bonaire in the final game.
This time around Aruba has other plans, the team wants to take it all. The Mens National Team has been in months of training and is ready to show off the progress made. The team will count with an international supporting cast in the names of David Abdul, Eric Abdul, Raymond Batten, Reynhard Bruinburg, Rensy Barradas, Ronny Nauwen, Jean-Luc Bergen and Steve Escalona who all play in the Netherlands.
Local superstars Erik Santos (RCA), Jefferson Vegas (Washington/Nacional), Francios "Pancho" Croes (Estrella), Ikel Lopez (Estrella) will also form part of the Arubian squad.
Both Curacao and Surinam will have their supporting casts from the Netherlands, this will make for an interesting play of game. Who will win the ABCS CUP?
Aruba is playing at home this time around and on friday their will be 11 players on the field and the 12th will be in the stands!
