NOORD, It was almost a year ago that Bubali played an international game against Carabobo FC, a professional team out of Venezuela. So they are no strangers to these types of games. This time Bubali will send its U-20 squad to face off against the Dallas Texans.
Head Coach Gregory Tromp is sending his young guns to this showdown, as he wants them to get some international experience. The Bubali U-20 team is currently leading the league, and is riding on a four game winning streak. Many will believe that this will be a “David vs Goliath” type of match, but Bubali is confident they will get the job done. Bubali is putting everything on the fighting spirit of its players. “We have a lot of hearth, and we leave everything on the field,” was how Joel Medina Brito described his team.
This is more than a friendly game. As the captain Victor Garcia commented, “There is a lot of pride, and we are on our turf, and we will defend it with honor.” Since receiving the invitation 2 weeks ago, the team has been working hard, preparing for this game. There is a great sense of unity and focus among the group, and according to Coach Gregory Tromp, “This will be to key to our success, unity. We will have to move as one unit. If we can accomplish that, then we will be the last man standing.” Bubali spend a lot of time working on fitness and conditioning and finish its preparation on Wednesday with a game against Sporting FC, currently playing in Division Uno, and a strong candidate to promote to Division di Honor.
These two teams will face off at 8:00PM and the battle field will be Compleho Deportivo Frans Figaroa. Soccer fans are cordially invited, as the entrance is just a smile. Come and cheer the young guns of Bubali as they battle theDallas Texans. Remember to wear white and green. Bubali…Yega…Hala pa nos pasa!!
