Jefferson would also be participating this year in the AC Milan Continental Cup in Cleveland Ohio starting July 3 to July 10. He will be playing in the Dutch Caribbean AC Milan Team under the supervision of Clarence Seedorf. Jefferson agreed to participate in the Q&A of AVB so that the island and the world can get to know him a little bit better. The following is a set of questions that has been answered by him.

What word would you apply? A: I always try to give my best and leave everything on the field, I never give up. Perseverance. Win. Q: Do you enjoy defending the best attackers? A: That’s what I like the most of playing soccer, I see that as a challenge and always try to win that duel. Q: At the age of 17, do you consider yourself a young veteran? A: I know I still have allot to learn. I have had much experience thanks to the opportunities I have been given. Q: Best Advice your coach has given you? A: Every soccer player is like an undiscovered diamond, you just have to polish it with hard work to make it shine. Q: Funniest teammate? A: I think that would be Pancho Croes. Q: In what way? A: When you least expect it, he says something and make everyone laugh. Q: Give me an example A: We had to wait almost 10 hours at the airport for our flight, we were all tired and he started saying funny stuff about other players to make us laugh. Q: Best dressed teammate? A: Every player has his own style. I haven't thought much about that. Q: Where do you fit in? A: I would better fit in the ones who are responsible players, are disciplined and like big challenges. Q: Boy Hood Idol? A: Carles Puyol. Q: What is it like preparing for a game? A: I mentally prepare myself a few day's before the game, try to think what the other team's weaknesses and strong sides are to take advantage of their weaknesses and try to prevent them to use their strongest weapons. Q: What is it like playing for the national team of Aruba? A: It's a good experience for me because I get to play with good players who I get to learn from. Q; Has your Dad given you any tips? A: He has always told me that hard work beats talent, so I am working hard to achieve something bigger. Q: Didn't your dad say you reminded him of himself? A: He used to be a marathon runner when he was younger, and says I developed my will power because of him. Q: At what age did you start playing soccer? A: I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old. Q: What got into you? A: I was a really hyper kid so my parents wanted me to calm that energy with some kind of sport, my dad was playing soccer by that time so he started teaching me little stuff and now it’s what I like to do the most. Q: What is your secret to staying in shape? A: Balanced diet and discipline to never miss any training. Besides my training with my soccer club and the National Team I spend allot of time training by myself. Q: Best game you ever played? A: With the U-13 national team in the 18 di Maart competitions I got to save the team a few times and we won the final and became champions. Q: Your Mother? A: She has always supported me and followed all my achievements and keeps records and photos of all my games. Q: Your Father? A: He's the one I talk to about my games and ask for opinion about my soccer games. Q: Your team fans? A: They always cheer me up and inspire me to keep fighting on the field. Q: What do you want your team fans to say about you? A: That I gave everything I could on the field no matter what the result was. Q: Favorite professional soccer player? A: Lionel Messi Q: What do you expect to achieve with your soccer career? What level? A: Soccer is my passion. I would like to make of soccer my profession and make a living out of it. Become a professional soccer player. I've been trying to achieve something big in soccer but still haven't got the chance. I get little support from other people and here in Aruba its difficult to find any contact in a foreign country about professional soccer. Q: Which would be your dream club to play for? A: F.C. ORANJESTAD- From his remarkable young age and the ability to read the game, Jefferson Vegas has been impressing the soccer fans in his first season in the Division di Honor. Jefferson has already made his debut in the National Team at the age of sixteen. He surely is a young talent that AVB hopes that he can accomplish all his dreams when it comes to his soccer career.
